Acer is looking to take-on the Apple iPad Mini, as a leaked specs sheet spotted on a French retailer’s website shows a 7.9-inch tablet from the company, the Acer Iconia A1-810,
which is priced at 199 Euros, roughly translating to about Rs.14,200 in
India. The tablet is expected to ship sometime in June.
Though the listing from the website was removed soon after, but not before the leaked specs sheet gave us full details on the upcoming device.
The Acer Iconia A1-810 is powered by a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT8125 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and the 7.9-inch display on the device has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The tablet also comes with 16GB of internal storage, but there is no word if the device gets a micro-SD card slot as well.
The leaked tablet measures 208.7 x 145.7 x 10.5mm and weighs in at 460 grams, which makes it a bit bulkier than the Apple iPad Mini,
which weighs around 308 grams. The back of the Acer Iconia A1-810 gets a
5 megapixel camera, but it misses out on an LED flash. At the front,
there is a VGA camera for video calling.
Since the tablet hasn’t been officially announced, it’s difficult to comment on it’s availability,
but considering the price point of the device, we hope that Acer brings
the device to the emerging markets like India as well.
