Gone are the days when Micromax Canvas HD was the only choice when one looked for a budget quad-core smartphone in the market. Though the smartphone surely got a head start over it’s competitors, but now, there are a large of number of quad-core smartphones in the market an an affordable price point.
Adding to the list is the latest offering from Zen, the Ultrafone 701HD. The specifications of the smartphone are quite reminiscent to that of the Micromax Canvas HD.
The Zen Ultrafone 701HD is powered by the same 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6598 quad-core processor, which is the same processor
that powers the Canvas HD as well. The processor is paired along with
1GB of RAM and the smartphone get’s a 5-inch display with a 720p resolution.
At the back, the smartphone houses an 8 megapixel camera with a BSI sensor, which is capable of recording 1080p videos. At the front, the Zen Ultrafone 701HD
gets a 3.2 megapixel camera, which is better than the Micromax Canvas
HD, which gets a 2 megapixel front facing camera. The smartphone also
gets 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a
micro-SD card.
The smartphone offers dual-SIM card
slots which offers 3G connectivity as well. Other connectivity features
include EDGE, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and Bluetooth v4.0. The Zen Ultrafone 701HD also packs-in a 2,000mAh battery, which promises a talk time of up to 8 hours.
Some popular pre-loaded applications
on the Zen Ultrafone 701HD include Facebook, Twitter, Youtube,
WhatsApp, GTalk, Zen Mini Store, Skype, MX Player, Contact Plus, Flash
Light, Emoze, TOI and Saavn.
The company is also bundling a free flip

least with smartphones like Lava Xolo Q800, Karbonn Tianium S1 and S5, etc.
