If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on the Nokia Lumia 520 since the smartphone was announced, we have good news for you. Starting today, the Nokia Lumia 520 is available for sale in retail stores across India. However, the smartphone is already up for sale via various online retailers.
The Nokia Lumia
520 is available online via Flipkart and Infibeam
for a price of Rs.10,499 and if you decide to buy the smartphone from Flipkart, you’ll also get an 8GB memory for free
along with the smartphone. Sweet!
The Nokia Lumia 520 was announced in India last month, along with the Nokia Lumia 720 and both these smartphones,
complete Nokia’s lineup of Lumia range of devices in India, which now
starts from the entry-level Lumia 520 and goes till the high-end, Nokia Lumia 920.
At the first look, Nokia Lumia 520 seems quite a good buy and offers all the goodness of Windows Phone 8 that you’ll find in other, higher-priced Windows Phone 8 smartphones. Upfront, you get a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display
with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.The Nokia Lumia 520 is powered by
a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8227 processor paired with 512MB of RAM,
which seems quite adequate to be able to run Windows Phone 8 without much hiccups.
The smartphone gets 8GB of on-board
storage which can be expanded by up to 64GB using a micro-SD card. The
Nokia Lumia 520 comes with a 5 megapixel rear camera which has
been tweaked by Nokia and offers a large number of lenses like
Smartshoot, which enhance the photographic capabilities of the device.
Sadly, the Nokia Lumia 520 misses out on a front facing camera and thus,
fails to utilize the tight Skype integration on Windows Phone 8.
One more downside of the Nokia Lumia 520
comes in the form of it’s battery, which is rated at just 1,430mAh and
we think that it might not be enough to last a full day of usage on a
single charge. The smartphone measures 119.9 x 64 x 9.9 mm, which makes
it thin enough to slide in the pocket easily.
